It has been a crazy two months! I have had such fun getting ready for the vendor affaire at Create next week in Irvine. This is a great opportunity to take some classes and get outside your box creatively speaking. There are still a few spots in a few classes so please take a moment to check out what is being offered. I will have some amazing new goodies for this show! New brass stampings, rhinestone jewelry bits and pieces, letters and numbers, buttons, collage papers, frozen charlottes and so much more! Plus fresh new samples to spark your imagination. This will be my first show flying solo with Serendipity Salvage so come out and show me some love!

As most of you know, Crystal Basica has gone back to Vintage Fairy Finds to sell mixed media art supplies full time. No worries she is still making time for her art. Many were concerned that this was a sad event- definitely not. We will still be having our usual good time hunting for treasure together. Life is a winding path and we have enjoyed our stroll together. We both learned so much and have each solidified our artistic visions. Combining two crazy schedules is daunting. Both Crystal and I wear other hats. Crystal is an amazing singer with the band 90 proof and I am an attorney. This transition was just a natural progression as we both move forward! Big things are happening for both of us and we cannot wait to share them with you as things unfold.

  Owners Scott and Wendy have a gorgeous store with just about anything you could possibly need for your next project - not to mention an amazing class schedule! We love coming to this store because we have lots of room to bring tons of our vintage and mixed media goodies!

  We have been hunting like crazy and have all kinds of new vintage treasures! We have held off from listing a bunch of new items on Etsy, so you can get 1st pick of these new finds! We just received a huge shipment of 100 year old unglazed bisque German doll heads, tons of vintage brass stampings and settings, rhinestone buttons, and oh so much more!!!

We also have lots of new samples and ideas to share with you. We are more than happy to share our tips and tricks :)

We took a little break from trunk shows over the holidays, but we have been on the hunt for new vintage treasures. We come full circle! Back to our roots :)

It's hard to believe Serendipity Salvage started just this last April 2011. We have been from one side of the the country to the other hunting for whatever fantastic treasure we can get our hands on! This weekend we will be back where it all began...Garden of Beaden in Upland, CA. 

We were just two jewelry artists with a love of cool "junk". We had no idea we were starting a business, we had just decided to go on a shopping trip or two for supplies for Glitterfest. So many of our friends thought what we were finding was cool too, so we started buying "extra". We "extra" turned into " we'll take all of it!" and the rest is history :)

This weekend is our last show for 2011. We have already started booking for next year and can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for us! Come by the Garden of Beaden and see what's new! We have just what you need to complete your holiday creations as well as something sparkly and fabulous for your crafty friends! We will be there from 10AM-6PM on Friday Dec 9th and 10-5PM on Sat Dec 10th.

Next Stop Bead Station!

We are so excited to be heading back to Orange County to one of my favorite bead stores- Bead Station in Lake Forest! There was an error in the date on our blog (crystal's fault sorry!)... We will be there on FRIDAY Nov 18th and SATURDAY Nov 19th from 10-5PM. We are thrilled to bring our treasure to this amazing store that is fill with so much variety! They really have tons of unusual finds :) Jill, Bead Station's owner, is a doll and we can't wait to make some new friends and see some of the familiar orange county crowd! We have been busy hunting this week and will be sure to bring some of new loot! We will see you there!

Serendipity Salvage Heads Back to San Diego!

Serendipity Salvage is thrilled to be heading back down to Bead Gallery in San Diego this weekend! We are going to be there with fabulous treasure for 2 whole days! We can't wait to show you what cool new treasure we have found! We had a little down time after Glitterfest and we have been out on the hunt! We are also looking forward to spending some time with owners Dolores and Julie. They always have something new and fantastic going on in their gorgeous store. It's always a good time! Whew! So Fun We Almost Lost Our Heads!!!

I would describe the last day of the bead shop hop at Brea Bead Works as delightful chaos. The day started with us searching for our heads- literally. One of our amazing customers was looking for just the right frozen Charlotte heads for a special class she will be teaching. After a little hunting through our back-stock boxes she picked 13 cute as a button heads. 

Crystal and I were thrilled to meet so many amazing mixed media artists. Brea has an absolutely stunning class schedule with top notch teachers in ALL disciplines. I really mean all. The samples in the store are amazing. I brought home one of the class schedules so I can pick something to attend after Glitterfest. 

We had a really busy day at Brea. I think the words 'feeding frenzy" were used. Crystal and I learned so much about preparing for a busy trunk show. 

1. Bring a calculator with a print out. ( I thought it was me but turns out our pink calculator sucks!)

2. You cannot have too many receipt books or credit card tape.

3. Pack a protein bar. 

4. Always book shows at amazing bead stores like Brea!!

5. Get bags for our ephemera!

We grow and learn with each show and really appreciate all of our customers that come out to see us at each location! We had a raffle this weekend and the winner is Connie Romero!!! The winner for last weekend at San Gabriel is Mary Fleming!!! Congrats!

Our Biggest Show Yet!

We are SO excited for this coming weekend! Serendipity Salvage is heading to San Gabriel Bead Company in Arcadia for a 3 day show September 9-11th! If you have never been to San Gabriel Bead Company, they are the biggest bead store we know of in the area. They have everything! In keeping in that spirit, we have decided to bring everything we have! We are delighted to have a whole entire room to fill with Vintage and Mixed Media Treasure. We spent most of last week pulling out boxes of cool stuff that we had almost forgot we had! Tons of super cool ephemera, old labels & bottles, old dolls, beautiful buttons, rhinestones, brass stampings & chain, vintage glass cabs...tons of new old stock! You don't want to miss this one! We will be raffling off some goodies for the Bead Shop Hop, so be sure to come by :)

Serendipity Salvage invades San Diego and Huntington Beach!

We are so excited for this upcoming weekend! We have been busy packing up our treasure so we can bring a little sparkle to Bead Gallery of San Diego and Beadology of Huntington Beach! If you are in the area, mark your calendars!  You won't wanna miss this and we would love to see you! We have planned some new FREE demonstrations for these upcoming trunk shows. Back by popular demand!!

We had such fun last weekend at the Garden of Beaden in Upland we are doing it again! We will be there this Saturday June 11th from 10 am until 5pm. We have a great assortment if vintage mixed media supplies. This is a great time to get all the little bits and pieces for a summer project or an upcoming class. We have loads of project samples to jump start your creative brain! We will be bringing new items and loads of rhinestone chain and bits!!
